Improving your home’s indoor air quality
Practical tips for healthier indoor air in Montreal and Laval: filtration, humidity and duct cleaning. Free estimate, RBQ-licensed technicians.
We spend most of the winter indoors — air quality matters as much as temperature. Here is how to improve it.
Filtration
A good-quality filter (MERV 8 to 13) captures dust, pollen and allergens. Change it regularly: a clogged filter hurts air quality and strains your system.
Humidity
30 to 50 % is ideal. Too dry in winter (static, scratchy throat), too humid in summer (mould). A humidifier or a properly sized heat pump helps balance it.
Duct cleaning
Over time, ducts accumulate dust and debris that recirculate through the house. A duct cleaning every 3 to 5 years improves both air and airflow.
